Intentional Friction

Turning off protection is meant to be hard

When you tap to turn off the shield, it enters Cooldown - protection stays fully active while a configurable timer (1 minute to 24 hours) counts down.

Protection remains active the entire time the timer runs - only when it expires does the shield actually turn off.

A clear warning shows your streak will reset, and a prominent “Cancel - Keep Shield Active” button lets you change your mind anytime.

Settings lock

Cooldown and block durations are locked while protection is active - you can't weaken your protection without the full cooldown first.

No screen data is written to disk, saved locally, cached, or transmitted across any network interface.

When enabled, the service captures on-screen transient visual frames at intervals of seconds to evaluate content locally using on-device machine learning models.

The DNS filter runs as a local loopback — your traffic never passes through any external server.

Only DNS queries are routed through the on-device tunnel; all other traffic goes directly through your normal connection. No traffic is ever tracked, logged, or inspected — neither locally on your device nor externally. The VPN icon in your status bar simply indicates the local tunnel is active.
